Kinard & Kinard Law Firm has been serving the residents of Charleston, South Carolina for over 35 years. Together, they practice law with a level of teamwork that most firms cannot achieve.

At Kinard & Kinard Law Firm, our legal practice includes:

Family Law: We can help you with every aspect of family law, from divorce to child support and child custody. As husband and wife, we understand the myriad of issues that you are going through. We will put all of our legal skills together for you in order to get you through this difficult time.

Child Support: Our family law attorneys understand the complexities of the child support laws of South Carolina. We can help either custodial parents or non-custodial parents establish a fair amount of monthly child support.

Child Custody and Visitation: Child custody is truly the most emotionally charged issue of family law. Our office understands what you are going through and can effectively represent both your interests and those of your children when matters of custody and visitation have to be decided. Contact our office and let us assist you in setting up a visitation schedule during a divorce proceeding, post-divorce or any time you and the other parent cannot agree. Once you have established a court-ordered visitation schedule, we can help you ensure that the schedule is followed by your former partner.

Interstate Child Custody Issues: Whether you live in South Carolina, another part of the country or another part of the world, if you have a child custody, visitation or support order in South Carolina and need to modify it or resolve a dispute, we can represent you. In most cases we can appear in court on your behalf without your needing to travel here.

Adoption: Adoption is a vital issue for families that are looking to adopt a child. Whether you are interested in step-parent adoption, the adoption of a family member, giving a permanent home to a foster child, or infant adoption, our office provides experienced legal services. We work to ensure that your adoption will go smoothly throughout every step of the process.

Criminal Defense: Criminal defense lawyer Bobby Kinard is an experienced litigator who has worked on both sides of the criminal justice system. He formerly served as both a judge and prosecutor and now puts his skills to work for you in the area of criminal defense. Our office defends clients accused of any felony or crimes, such as:

  • DUI/DWI drunk driving
  • Drug charges, including possession, sale, distribution, and manufacture
  • Theft, larceny, or shoplifting
  • Rape or sexual assault
  • Assault and battery or other violent crimes
